There is an improved job market for management degree-holders based on the results of recent GMAC surveys of both b-school alumni now in the workforce as well as employers looking for MBAs and other graduate management new hires.
In the spring of 2012, 1,096 recruiters from more than 800 companies worldwide participated in the annual Corporate Recruiters Survey and indicated their goals for the year remain focused on improving performance and productivity and expanding their customer base. Not only are more companies planning to hire recent MBAs in 2012 but they expect to increase the number of new hires per company compared with 2011.
Survey findings from the 2012 Corporate Recruiters Survey show encouraging job prospects for Class of 2012 grads who will be seeking employment, with more companies reporting plans to increase their hiring levels for all recently graduated management candidates this year.
Hiring projections for 2012 reveal that:

Hiring projections for 2012 reveal that:
- Nearly 4 in 5 (79%) employers plan to hire at least one MBA graduate in 2012 (up from 72% in 2011 and 50% in 2009);
- 41% of companies plan to hire graduates of Master in Management programs (up from 35% last year);
- More than a third (35%) plan to hire Master of Accounting grads (up from 29% in 2011); and;
- 47% of employers plan to hire graduates of other business master’s programs, compared with 43% in 2011.
- In addition to the increased proportion of companies hiring, there was also a slight increase in the mean, or average, number of new graduate business hires that companies expected to hire in 2012—an average of 17.4 per organization, compared with an average of 13.4 in 2011.
